I'll be leaving the country for the first time (ever) and I'm wondering if anyone will be in the area as well around that time? I wouldn't mind company. Also, is anyone familiar with Roshan Villa? I've looked alll over the place and can't seem to find any pictures or a good description:/ Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to India in Jan.2008 and I guess there will be plenty of tourists in this month in India so finding a suitable company will not be a problem. You must know that December and January is the peak season that foreigner tourists come to India.If you not find a suitable company through these travel forums than stay around the places that are backpacker's paradise such as Paharganj in Delhi where in near by and roof top cafe's travlers of different countires flok in other wise Guest house like'Roshan Vila' that is situated in the Baber lane, Bengali Market, New Delhi is a posh hotel near Connought Place where less chances to interact with fellow travelers.

A word of caution. Delhi is certainly not the safest of places for a lady travelling alone. Be extra wary of "friendly" males or females who may approach you and do not accept food or drink from anyone in any circumstances, there are too many instances of drugging nowadays. Also avoid going out alone at night, and dress modestly to avoid unwanted attention.
In any case June is hot like a furnace and you will get a heat stroke and bad sunburn if you are not covered up !
For added safety, I would suggest you take a mainstream hotel in a busy area rather than a guest house, since you are alone. Try makemytrip.com; ezeego1.com, travelguru.com Being the height of summer, you can demand and will get, an off season rate.

Hi there... :) welcome to Delhi. I read a couple of replies regarding heat and all... well i won't right them off on the face of it, but these days its raining here in New Delhi and so hopefully the pleasent weather will continue here for some time. We are having the coolest May in years.

I stay in New Delhi, been here for many years now... but i havn't been to the museums and stuff :) cause its in my city and u never visit your own city's museums till the time your mommy takes u there... now i am quite old to let that happen :)
