| Lima | Lima to Trujillo Posted: Wed May 7, 2008 07:02 AM UTC
Going to be playing some tennis in Trujillo and was curious what the best/cheapest way to get there was.
We will be starting our trip in Rio. Should we buy roundtrip tickets from Rio to Lima? Should we fly Lima to Trujillo or drive? Should we buy tickets before coming to South America or buy them in the country? Thank you for your time. |

You may want to have a look at my transportation pages with more info and websites and then make your decision.

unfortunately you travel section doesn't talk too much detail when it comes to travelling from Lima to Trujillo.
So, I guess the question still remains on the best way to get to Lima to Trujillo. Thanks!

check the bus websites (cruz del sur, ormeņo) and the airlines (lan peru, aerocondor, starperu) and decide.
on those websites you can also see how long the journey takes.

Ok, I notice that the bus rides takes 9 hours and that flights ranged from anywhere between 135 dollars and up.
We will most likely be flying, is it cheaper to buy the ticket at the airport in Lima or better to buy before showing up to the country?

I just found LAN Peru and STAR Peru fare USD 100 one way all taxes included.
As always: the earlier you book, the better fares.

Is this a way of getting people that don't speak the language to pay more or am I missing something....

As Noel ("nhoolb") stated, buy your air tickets beforehand for better rates. Don't just go to one website. Base your decision after comparison shopping. You can visit each domestic air carrier's website, but that may require more time from you. You can check my Peru pages, I've written about a comparison tool that will allow you to search & compare domestic airfares in Peru at once.
BTW...what's all that info on the link about?! It's not comprehensible after pasting it here. Goodluck & enjoy beautiful Peru!
