Dominican Republic travel from Baharona to Constanza and Santiago
Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 10:45 PM UTC
Hi, i will be bussing it from Santo Domingo to Baharona and jaracoba- and wondered if it is poss to get from Jaracoaba to Constanza and la vega instead of going all the way back to Santo Domingo- I don't mind taking gua guas even though it might be a bit slow- give me a chance to hang with the locals a bit...
thks

You mean something like going from Santo Domingo to Jarabacoa/Constanza/La Vega and from one of the three places (La Vega being the biggest of the three) then take a bus to Barahona? Just wanna make sure I understood correctly before asking :)

Well, you at least understood what I meant ;)

Let me make some inquiries about the part Barahona-Jarabacoa part.

Unfortunately, my dear, you have to change buses in Santo Domingo :(

They said there's a route through a town called San José de Ocoa but the terrain is so bad it's only good to drive with a SUV or a 4x4.

On a happier note, I think it takes between 1h45 and 2 hours to go to Jarabacoa from Santo Domingo, and I think 4 hours for the leg Barahona-Santo Domingo.
