| Prague | Hotel Recommendations Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 06:10 PM UTC
I know this question has been asked tons but there is too much info too look through. I will be in Prague for about two nights. Never been and not super keen on touristy areas but I am a tourist myself :)
Any, hotels of good value in a recommended area (not too expensive!)? Possibly near some decent nightlife (pubs/bars but not all night clubs) and also transit? I will be taking the train from prague to budapest after two or three days. A few recommendations would help. |

Take a look at my review on my Prague pages for Hotel Excel City. It's out of town a bit but right on bus and tram routes. Rooms are basic but clean and cheap.

When I was in Prgue, I stayed at the Hotel Movenpick. A quick check of some rates shows some rooms for 2 people at 89 Euro per night (breakfast included). The hotel is modern and very comfortable. The hotels is steps away from the Andel stop of the subway (which is a couple stops from Old Town). There is a large mall with a Carrefour for all of your shopping needs. The one thing I am uncertain of is the nightlife of the area since I am not a nightlife person. I do remember that it was a neighborhood with many young people so I have to believe that there must be some nightlife. Enjoy your trip - you'll love it!

The City Crowne Hotel is about twenty minutes walk from the city centre and far less by tram which is close by. See my tip on my Prague pages. there are a numbers of small pubs and cheap restaurants around. I paid 49Euros for a single last June and this included a very nice breakfast plus coffee and shortbreads available to help yourself from all day. Great staff. Altogether great value for money. Big rooms, very clean and nicely renovated.
