hey well done on the pricing
its a lot better than they were quoting on the BEEB the other night looks like as long as you have a valid game ticket you don't need the visa for the period covering the game - not sure but i think its from 19th - 24th - club websites may have more info HAVE FUN Julie

Riga - Moscow train. I wouldn’t go second-class on the train, pay a bit more and take a bed in a four-bed cabin; I wouldn’t bother with breakfast and cleaning. There is a restaurant carriage if you fancy something to eat in the evening, the foods ok. Each carriage has an attendant, they have cold beer if ask nicely.
Drop us a message if you need any advice, I've done this journey many times.

Hi Mark
As I'm one of 4 doing just about the same trip maybe we can help each other etc? We're flying out to Riga from Stansted on 19th @ 6.05am so we're a bit ahead of you, and planning to take the 18.10 train from Riga-Moscow on the Tuesday, returning on Thursday @ 21.02 from Moscow. I say planning, because have you been able to sort out train tickets? because after several calls to LDZ, Ive got absolutely knowhere! International train ticket office with operators who can barely speak latvian, never mind english (And that came from a girl on the genral help number, who spoke good english, but couldnt hep me further, no online booking facility - Even an American guy, working in a tourist office for the past 9 yrs in Riga, laughed and said dont waste your time - he'd stopped calling them ages ago. The outcome being that it just looks like a free for all straight from the airport to the train station and hope for the best! Dont bother with Ecolines coach services they re fully booked (Missed out on this, as they have online booking)and dont bother trying to hire a car (your not allowed to cross into Russia) I'd sya its 50/50 at best whether we watch it in Moscow, or in a bar in Riga! Good Luck Mate Steve
