Maybe someone could help me determine if I could ship a standard Samsonite suitcase around 10 kg with dimensions 79 x 54 x 31 cm from Budapest to Dubrovnik. I tried the website and phoning without much success. The charges from DHL and UPS were both over 100 Euros. If the post cannot handle this, does anyone know a local trucking company that might do this? Looking forward to my bicycle trip in Hungary. Thanks. Michael

MPL Hungarian Post Logistics would carry it for HUF 10800 (about EUR 40) from any post office, as an International Mail Package. Fragile/bulk extra fee is 5000 HUF. Max weight 20 kg, max dimensions: 200 cms in any dimension, but the sum of the three dimensions should not exceed 300 cms. Minimum size is 12x17.5x0 cm. However, think of where you would send that suitcase - as you may get there later than the suitcase, so there would be no-one to hand it over to. (I suppose it's no problem to get it at another post office in Dubrovnik, the only problematic thing is how to write that on the package so that all postpeople and mail selection machines would understand it.)
