My girlfriend and I want to spend a few days to a week camping along the coast in a few different places..

Are there any free campsites anywhere along the coast or is it easier to go to a caravan park type thing?

Any other advice?

I doubt whether you will find any free camping along the coast in Cornwall.

Wild camping (i.e. setting up a tent wherever)is not actually legal in the UK, although it may be tolerated.

"Tents cannot be pitched just anywhere because every piece of Britain is owned by some individual or some organisation and according to the strict letter of the law permission must be obtained prior to pitching tent and camping.

In practice however, this is often impractical and wild camping is usually tolerated in the more remote areas - typically, more than half a day's walk from an official campsite or other accommodation..."

There are plenty of campsites though, some of which are very reasonably-priced. You don't have to choose large organised caravanparks (although most sites take touring caravan as well as tents).
