Baguio to Asin and Woodcarvers
Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 05:51 AM UTC
malayo po ba ang asin hotspring sa marcos highway? we will be staying at a hotel just near the foot of the newly built flyover. mga magkano po kaya ang aabutin ng metro namin from there going to asin? what time po kaya ang resort hours nila at yung hotel nila kung sakali for overnight stay? o baka may alam kayo na ibang hotspring sa baguio, for a change... at saka yung woodcarvers village ba ay malayo rin? mga magkano rin kaya ang range ng taxi meter? thanks very much!

Hi there!

1. If you will be staying at that hotel which you mentioned earlier, it'll probably take 25-30 minutes more or less to get to Asin Hotspring.

2. As of the moment, you can choose between Riverview and Palmgrove for your swimming spot. Riverview comes first, and a few meters away is Palmgrove. As far as i remember Palmgrove opens around 8:30, and so with Riverview.

3. Asin Hot spring is not in Baguio City, it's a part of Benguet. I don't know any other place in Baguio that has hotspring.

4. Hmm..i cannot say it's a "village" but anyhow, the woodcarving area is in Asin Rd. which is still a part of Baguio and you'll be passing bye that place on your way to Asin Hotspring. Don't worry, coz these carvers are very visible to your eyes on your way there.

5. Taxi? i don't think taxi drivers would agree to being metered since they will be at the losing end. I think there's a standard price being followed by these drivers, and you have to expect that it's really pricey but if you're willing to pay then i don't see any problem for that. :)

6. You may also take a jeepney going there.

HAPPY vacation! Don't miss the hotspring!

thanks very much for your reply... it was very kind of you... anyway, are you trying to say that i can take a jeepney ride going to riverview/palmgrove? will the jeepneys stop exactly at the place? is the route of the jeepney going to asin hotspring the same when going back to the plaza? where in the plaza should i ride one? signboard? we are planning to go to woodcarvers in the afternoon after swimming at the hotspring. thanks very much and God bless!!!

hi there, it's been a while since i last went home. i am from baguio anyway.
so, merong route ng jeep going in and out of asin. i am not pretty sure where the terminal is, but you can always ask folks around, the town's folk i mean, and not the tourists (since there are many in baguio). but i believe, the terminal is near the market. at the back of city hall, there's a road leading to the market. i am not sure if the previous terminal of jeeps is still there. take the jeepney ride since it is cheaper and you get to experience the ride. the people won't eat anyway. =) so enjoy your trip.

Exactly. There's a jeepney going there, from the market walk your way up till you reach Asin's Jeepney Station. It's easy. Just ask.

The jeepneys don't exactly drop off these resorts, but it wouldn't hurt to take a few walks i believe. It's an exercise.

Take note that rides are not that available as you think especially if it's past 4. So always ask.
