| Paris | Train to Paris, from London Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 12:35 AM UTC
I was wondering if there was a cheaper alternative to taking to train from London to Paris?
I am getting fares like $310 US. Is it cheaper to fly? Or should I stay in England instead. I am going at the end of May. |

Go to the Easyjet website. You'll see flights from London/Luton to Paris/Charles de Gaulle for less than 55 British Pounds.

in 2004 I took the EuroStar from Paris to London. I went from downtown Paris to downtown London in under 2 hours. If i had flown, i would have had to travel, from the center of Paris, get out to CDG, go through security, check bags, then hope that the flight left on time. Then I'd have arrived at either Gatwick or Heathrow, wait for bags, and traveled another 1 hour or so on either the British Rail or the Tube to downtown London. Even if you do save a little money on a flight, is your time so cheap??

I just traveled from Paris to London on the Eurostar for $88 US.
Maybe you should try another date to travel. It is much cheaper and less hassel than flying.

Try Eurostar website, normally you should get much cheaper prices that $310. If you book early you may get prices for less than $100.

Be sure you are looking at Economy Restricted Fares. I just found a round trip fare on 28-5-08 for $160.00 round trip. Check all times available. The $160.00 round trip left early in the morning and came back to London in the evening. Google Eurostar and go to the site brought up.
