| Los Angeles | LAX to Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 08:19 PM UTC
Second question!! After I return my car to Hertz at LAX I need to get to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Is it possible to do this easily by public transport (bus/metro) or would I be better getting a cab? If so, approx how much should I expect to pay?
Thanks again :) |

hI
A few years ago I stopped in LAX and also wanted to get to Hollywood.. The Public Buses do go from the Airport to Hollywood. But as one Bus driver showed me and took me to the train stop (subway) and so I took it and the transfers..I think two trains to get to Hollywood...But the timing was much quicker than if I would have traveled by City Bus.. One thing though is that I believe the City Bus might pass right by the Roosevelt Hotel where as train(Subway) you probably have to walk some blocks...Not sure !!??

Lived in LA for 10 years, I would highly recommend you take a cab, depending on the traffic, the cab fare would approximately cost $25 - 35. You're probably better off extending your car rental for another day so you can see more of Hollywood, Sunset Blvd, Santa Monica Beach, Universal Studios and even Venice Beach and alot others.
Taking the bus would probably take you the whole day to get there, so unless there are other new forms of transport in LA, you're better off extending your car rental. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Sometimes a little more reasonable than a taxi, is using an airport shuttle. Two major services provided by Super Shuttle and Prime Time. They have websites and you can see what the cost will be in advance and make reservations online.
The shuttle stops at 2-4 places depending how many passengers are on board.

Thanks for all your help - looks like taxi or shuttle is the way to go!! I'm meeting some friends on Wed and one of them has organised the trip for us for the next week so I don't need the rental car then - I hope!!

The Hollywood/Highland Metro train station is near to the Roosevelt. I took a cab from Hollywood to LAX last week and it cost $35.
