| Los Angeles | Gas Station near LAX Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 08:17 PM UTC
I'm returning a rental car on Wednesay (7 May) and need to fill the tank before I return it to avoid a huge gas bill - is there a gas station close to the car rentals (I'm with Hertz) that is easy to find? Any help would be really appereciated.
Thanks in advance :) |

There is a gas station ( Shell, IIRC ) at the corner of Aviation and Century.
Century Blvd is an east-west street where most of the major car rental offices are located Aviation Blvd is a north-south street going along the easternmost edge of LAX. (BTW, if you are taking I-105 west to the airport, the exit for Aviation is the first one past I-405. Otherwise the Century exit off of I-405 is probably best. )

Thanks for all your help - looks like taxi or shuttle is the way to go!! I'm meeting some friends on Wed and one of them has organised the trip for us for the next week so I don't need the rental car then - I hope!!

| Los Angeles | Two URLs to know about Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 03:39 PM UTC
www.GasPriceWatch.com
www.GasPriceBuddy.com These sites will allow you to search for the best gasoline price within a specific map area -- like around an airport or car rental place. They will also tell you the hours for the station and whether they take credit cards. The latter is EXTREMELY important in Southern California, where the AM-PM chain has good prices on gas but deals cash or ATM only. They're not sneaky about it, they say so right on the gas tanks. But don't pull in unless you have the cash to pay for a full tank.
