Events in New York in early June.

Hi Everyone,
I'm travelling to NY (for the 5th time!) for a week between 3rd-10th June, staying in the Upper East side. Are there any events going on in the city during this week, that would be great to visit?

Any suggestions would be very welcome,

We're heading there ourselves, specifically for the BBQ Block Party in MAdison Square Park, June 7/8. But we're foodies and BBQ festivals always seem to call our name!

i would recommend renting bikes and cruising around Central Park or taking the nice ride from Brooklyn Prospect Park to Coney Island!

Check out the free concerts and performances in Central Park, organized by SUMMERSTAGE -- some fun and cool things happening there. http://www.summerstage.org/

While you're there, not far from the Summerstage area, you will find a huge Saturday and Sunday afternoon skating party. These are freestyle skaters and many use the old style skates, dress in amazing outfits and perform astonishing skate moves. This is a must-see for the entire family!
