What is the best route to get from CDG to my hotel in Gennevilliers? Via RER/ Metro? Or shall I just take a cab? Thanks so much.......... |

If you can take RER, I found it very easy and affordable.

www.ratp.fr (all public transportation in Paris) tells you to go to Gare du Nord first, then take public transport to Gennevilliers.
The distance is 24 kms (approx). Taxi should be about 30 euro (see below). The ride should take about 30 minutes. Public transportation: The itinerary is about 75-90 minutes. Direction : Massy-Palaiseau (RER) From: Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 1 To : Gare du Nord 32 mn Change at: Gare du Nord (Surface) - SNCF 3 mn Direction : Persan Beaumont (SNCF) From : Gare du Nord (Surface) To : Saint-Denis 6 mn Change at: GARE DE SAINT DENIS-TRAMWAY - Bus 178 5 mn Direction : LA DEFENSE-METRO-RER-TRAMWAY From: GARE DE SAINT DENIS-TRAMWAY To: GENNEVILLIERS-RER 12 mn Taxi rates (as of 2007-01-01): the starting fee is 5,60 euro Tarif A: From 10-17 hrs: km. price = 0,83 euro. Tarif B: From 17-22 hrs: km. price = 1,10 euro. Tarif C: From midnight - 7 hrs: price = 1,33 euro. For Sunday rates only Tarif B and C apply and for public holidays, Tarif B applies.

Hi
to go to Gennevilliers, you can take RER + metro, it would take you around 1H30 and 13 Euros for the both tickets Genneviliers is in the North, I would suggest you to consider to take a Shuttle company for 35 Euros (net) for example http://www.netcapricorn.com/clients/airportconnection/paris.htm

I usually see many advices to use the Metro. This works ONLY if you have carry on baggage as there are turnstiles and stairs to navigate. Otherwise a taxi is the best, gets you there without any hassle, and not expensive compared to Taxi's in any country.
