Well the website looks really promising, but I guess those pictures look a little bit misleading. If I were you maybe I will go around Beijing by myself. I live in Beijing for a year before and in my opinion, public transportation in Beijing is pretty easy, almost the same as in Singapore. Basically you can get to places you want just by public transportation. For the information about tourist places you want to go, you can just buy the tourist guide book in your hometown.

About accomodations, you don't have to worry, in Wang Fu Jing (shopping area, like in Orchard Rd, Singapore) area there are lots of hotel choices from the 3-star to 5-star hotel. For being in the shopping area, prices of these hotels are not too expensive. You don't have to worry about the cleanliness of the hotels, they are international standard hotels. Also, you don't have to worry about food if you stay in that area. Lots of local and international restaurants. You must go to Golden Jaguar Restaurant. It's a buffet restaurant, so make sure that you really hungry. They have wide variety of food. Don't miss the Peking Duck!

About shopping, in malls, you don't have to bargain. However, in the black market places (like those places who sells fake branded stuff), bargain at least 70% of the opening price (for example, if the opening price is 100RMB, you must bargain 30RMB. Sometimes if you bargain lower than that, they will give you anyway. If you know how much is the normal price then it will help you lots). They know you are tourists, and in their mind tourists have lots of greens!

About tours in Beijing, usually, in the hotel lobby they provide you tours brochures and services. In my opinion, it's better if you join the tours from hotel, just for safety reasons. Even if there's no tours services, you can go to places by your own. For the Great Wall, it will be harder for you to go on your own because it's out of town, you must rent a car, driver, and translator. However, for other places, they are easily reachable by public transportation.

I hope this helps :)
