| Istanbul | Sabiha Gokcen to Sultanahmet on Saturday afternoon. Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 11:53 AM UTC
Hello Everyone.
I am arriving on Saturday around noon and would like to get straight over to the Sultanahmet area. Could anyone make a few suggestions? I've seen postings on getting from Ataturk AP to Sabiha Gokcen, but was not sure if these applied. I advise you to take the HAVASH bus to a Seabus port and then directly over to Sultanahmet? Or is there a public bus or tram line? Also the approximate times and costs of this and any websites would be helpful. You can also email me directly at jeff_g_wilson@yahoo.com Many thanks! Jeff. |

The most economical way to get to Sultanahmet from Sabiha Gokcen Airport or SAW will be like this.
It may sound a little compli, but in actual, it is piece of cake. There are city buses the travels from SAW to Kadikoy Port at least every half an hour. Take this and they'll drop you off at the Kadikoy port which is near the bus stop, ask anyone for ferry boat if ur in doubt. Then take a ferry that goes to Eminonu. Once at Eminonu, walk to the Eminonu tram station which is a little walk down the underground pedestrian lane. Take a tram and Sultanahmet is the 3rd tram station from Eminonu (eminonu - sirkeci - gulhane - sultanahmet). Easier done than said. Enjoy your trip!

...and by the way, the bus fare would cost only YTL3, ferry fare cost 1, and tram is 1.30...a total of less than YTL6!
