I am going on the Canal du Midi in the middle of September 2008 from Trebes to Narbonne. Can anyone recommend any vinyards/wine tasting place on this route and places of interest?

You'll be in the wine region Languedoc-Roussillon. More specifically the Minervois and Corbières areas.

There are vinyards in many of the small villages along that sell good an cheap wine you can taste before you buy.
If this is your first house-boat trip in this area here is an out of topic recommendation: Bring some old gloves to handle the lines in the locks. As the "sewage" of the boats goes directly into the water, you might not want to touch the lines with bare hands. |
