Kyoto Osaka or Kyoto?
Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 02:57 AM UTC
I'm planning my trip to the Kansai area around june 6th to 10th and I need to decide where I should stay
First, how long does it take to go from Osaka to Kyoto? and how long does it take?
Second, which city should I base on? If it's not a big distance to cover, I'd like to stay in one city than staying two different places.

Thanks in advance

As above said, it's about 30min bullet train ride, and the day trip from one city to the other is doable, but if you'd really want to enjoy these cities, stay at both places (2 nights each or 3 nights at one place and 1 night at the other). The night life in these cities is a half of the fun, and you don't want to worry about missing the last train back to the hotel.

Hi I am sorry I don't know the cost of the train but I must say that staying at one place would be good enouf to explore both cities! Stay at Kyoto. There is more to do. Unless you are a shopper, a night clubber or a universal studio fan, there is no need to use Osaka as a base to explore Osaka. I just took the sShinkan
