| London | Madame Tussauds - is an hour enough? Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 12:07 AM UTC
I am trying to decide whether to go for the cheap 5 pm tickets. Does anyone know whether 1 hour in the museum will be sufficient? I am going with another 2 friends...hope someone can help! Thanks!

I didn't care much for Mme T's so an hour would be enough for me.

Mme T's wouldn't be anywhere near my top 20 "London things to do", but if you do really want to go, I don't think you could come close to doing it justice in an hour.
It is 30 years since I was there though. How's about that for a non-committal reply!

I thought about doing the same thing last time I was in London but I had my husband with me and he wasn't in the slightest bit interested in going.
You probably need 2-3 hours there to get your moneys worth. Just depends how much time you spend taking photos of yourselves with the figures If cost is an issue it might be worth checking out www.daysoutguide.co.uk. They have two for one offers to lots of attractions if you hold a valid train ticket with National Rail. There are conditions of course.

We were there in the morning and it was so crowded that we could hardly move. If the tickets are cheap because not many people are there, maybe it would go quicker. I enjoyed the train ride thing more than the actual museum part. My grandson didn't like it at all. In the music section, none of his peeps were there. This was June 2007

More than enough. Not a lot to take in, but a lot to take out.

If you really must go, then paying less for less time there seems sensible. It is a tourist trap, but if waxworks are your thing you might find an hour isn't enough.
Don't assume it won't be crowded: it's only cheaper because you will have less time but a) people will already be there are and b) other people will be going for the cheap tickets too.

I agree with the other posters. I personally would avoid like the plaque but that's just my opinion. The Planetarium next door would be a better place in which to spend your money. Or go on the London Eye.

i think tussauds is one of the most overpriced, out of proportion of what you get for your money attractions in london. having said that the waxworks are good and if that is what you like then go for it.
