| New Orleans | Need tips near by French Quarter Posted: Sun May 4, 2008 12:21 AM UTC
I´m a travel writer and I´m going back to New Orleans after 20 years to write for my travel column. Even though I will write about Bourbon Street and other goodies; I wonder if you can give me some tips, anywhere in the quarters near by, to find something a little less crowded. Let´s say, a typical restaurant where locals who care for saving money go, bars or other places. Anything you might find interesting. I´m sure New Orleans has a lot more to offer.

You won't find much in the French Quarter. It's mainly a tourist place. The CBD has a few places.
If you can get down there, check out Magazine Street just east of Audubon Park. Interesting area with lots of restaurants. Almost solidly locals.
