I drove down to the Victoria Falls entrance and parked my car. From there, about 15 minutes walk, maybe 20. I did stop to take photos. My hostel was a bit on the outskirts, but I could have made it all in 30-40 minutes if I had not driven my car.

The town centre is a nice walk down a gentle sloping hill to the border. Maybe 300-500 meters.

Not bad.

Taxis have no fuel. They all begged me to get them some.

Am not sure if there is a town called victoria falls. I know livingstone, which is near but not a walking distance. It depends which direction u are coming to the falls - zambia or zimbabwe.

Do visit Livingstone for some lovely wooden animals and other handicrafts made in the crafts village. It is much cheaper there and you can also see them make the stuff in front of you. You have to bargain a lot to get reasonable prices or you will get ripped off!!! You can also see the tree from which Dr. Livingstone saw the Vic Falls first.

There is the Livingstone Game Park which has only herbivorous animals (no big cats there!!!) and nearby is a lovely crocodile and snake park too which is really worth a visit. See my Livingstone Game Park page for more details and pictures.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Vic Falls township is 20 to 30 mins walk from the Zambian border from memory,at least it is from close to the centre of the township. It can take a while to go thru the border of Zimbabwe, then walk thru no mans land and the the border formalities at Zambia but it is worth it. Views over the bridge are amazing. You must not walk from there to Livingstone, take a taxi,or you will get mugged on the 5 km walk!
