I'm exploring the possibility of flying to London, England in late August or September. I live in Vancouver and can fly from here or could also fly out of Seattle, Washington.

Does anyone have any advice about airlines and/or timing to get the best prices?

I seem to recall Hansi and Lori picking up a good price on either flythomson or Monarch. I don't know where they were flying from but they are flying into Manchester around that time.

Because the USdollar is weak at the moment, perhaps it would be good for you to fly from Seattle. If you wish to fly direct it will be a little bit more expensive, but if you are willing to fly with a stop over either in the USA or in Europe, it will work out cheaper ( continental via houston, northwest via minneapolis, american via dallas or air france via paris, lufthansa via frankfurt etc). i will use expedia or travelocity to look for a fare closer to the date, i would imagine september to be cheaper than august since august still falls within the european holiday season. when Canadian dollar was cheaper than usd, flying direct from vancouver or via toronto was a cheaper option, many people in seattle used to do that. now the tables are turned..

At this moment there are excellent prices from Vancouver to London on Air Transat, check with a local travel agent, also Zoom has some good prices, you can check their website, prices have never been lower.
