Pisa Transportation from Pier to train station?
Posted: Sat May 3, 2008 03:40 AM UTC
We are coming in to Pisa on a Cruise Ship. They want to charge a silly amount of money to get to the train station. Is there a better way?

I think you may be docking at Livorno, not Pisa (although Calambrone is nearer to Pisa itself). Pisa is not by the sea. Best to check with your cruise company exactly where you will be docking. If it is Calambrone then this might explain the 'silly money'.

Most ships dock at Livorno, and you can easily get the train to Pisa. Journey takes about 15 minutes and trains are frequent. Times and fares (click 'buy') in English here:

You do not need to buy tickets online for this journey, you can simply buy them at the station.

You could walk (maybe 15 minutes or so), or get a taxi (not cheap), or get bus N1 from your ship to Livorno station, assuming you have docked there.

I was just on a cruise and there was a shuttle bus to the city center which costs 1 euro and then you can take another bus for 1 more euro.

I forgot to mention that it was Livorno that you will be docked at and then you can take the train to Pisa which was 3.20 euro.
