Re: QuestionMarket.com Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 08:01 PM UTC
I haven't seen it.
But I never seem to get the hassle other people do with some VT adverts/pop-ups.
I suspect, as it's at home and at work, that it may well be a VT-related ad/ pop-up of some sort.
What does it want you to do, apart from not close the window?
I'd just close it anyway: I can't see that it will do any harm if you do.

Re: QuestionMarket.com Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 08:04 PM UTC
thanks, i do close it.
but in trying to google about it, it seems it is some sort of cookie or something that attaches itself to random websites. i don't think it is a normal VT ad.
i have no idea. i just wish it would stop.

Worth running some sort of spyware checker on your machine/s, do you think? Might get rid of it?

It's a small survey piece that we are running for a partner. It seems to be malfunctioning because it should only be appearing occasionally and only when you exit virtualtourist and are done browsing.
You mean you keep seeing it all the time?

It happened to me as well G but, it positioned itself just off my screen, and I could not bring it back on screen to read it, I just used ALT F4 to get rid of it

It seems they have technical problems and couldn't get them sorted so we pulled them for now. I hate these things but occasionally we do a small amount as a courtesy to an advertiser who has a survey about particular travel topics. They are VERY rare, and should be VERY unobstrusive when the technical issues are sorted. It won't last long anyway.

I've had the same thing, and it is so far off to the right of the screen that I can't get to it even to see what it says. It won't let me close the browser unless I see it is there and close it.

It is still happening May 9th. I finally got it pulled out to where I could see it, and it just says "Please don't close..." And then even tho I didn't, it did close.
