You should note that the site quoted is very old, missing a number of new roads and bridges, so far noone seems to have done a new map (maybe waiting till they finish?)

Try this site:
http://www.vietbando.com/ This online map an help you find locations, roads, and more in most of city in Vietnam. The thing is that because it is designed for Vietnamese, there is not English instruction at the present (They plan to have the English version for tourists though but not known when). I can provide you with some guide and key words tohelp you read the map. Ban Do = Map Quan = District (Quan 3 = District 3) Red capitalise words mans name of province or city, smaller and blue words indicate districts, towns, and suburbs, and when you zoom the map in,you will see names of the streets shown right next to the road ro street. On the right hand site of the site is the names of different cities in Vietnam,so you just move the mouse to the city you are afterand click. Basically, everything after that just uses common sense to nevigate yourself (if you are familiar to Google Earth, you will find no problem because the system has similar features). Vietnam also has GPS availabl Ido not know if GPS device from Singapore will work there or not but if you got one bring it with you and see if it helps. Loof for Vietmap.vn or something like that where you can find more information about GPS in Vietnam and how to se it. Cheers. Have great time

For those you can use Vietnamese, this online map can be really helpful in different ways. Once you have entered a particular map (example you chose Ho Chi Minh city map), and the map is shown on the screen, then you can find a specific spot on the map. On the top of the page, right under the logo of "VietBanDo", there are 5 headings which are (in order from left to right): map library, find specific location, your map, real estate, and find street/road. If you click on "find specific location", two bars or boxes will appear right under the 5-heading bar, in the first box, say if you type in "New World hotel" in Vietnamese, and the second box you type in Ho chi Minh city, then the result will be shown under the boxes with full address of the hotel. If there are more than one "New World hotel" in Ho chi Mih city, then all hotel labled "New World" will be displayed with their full addresses. You just choose the one you are after. Now if you want to find the way from a spot A say "the New World hotel" to a spot B say "Unnification Palace", then right under the found result of "New World hotel", there are few words printed in little red purpleish saying "from" then "to" then "show on the map", you just click on these promted words and type in "New World hotel",then "Unification Palace", then click on "show in the map. Now if you look on the map you will see a little blue line connect the spots meaning that is one of the ways you can take to go from A to B. There arefearures in this site guys and justmake the most of it.
Cheers
