Hey All,

All of my posts seem to have disappeared from the perth forum? has anyone else had this happen to them?

I've got to open an australian bank account for working in perth, does anyone have any preference on banks? and also i'm sure i probably cant but can i open an account from here so it's ready for when i come across?

As for Bank Accounts, Bankwest has just advertised a zero fee account. So long as ya salary is credited to the account. Best one I have seen for a long time.

I believe it is not possible to open an account from outside the country.
It only takes a few mins to open an account ready for your pay to go in, though it can be up to a week before you get your bank card(if the money goes in before your cards arrive, you can still withdraw cash by going into the bank).
Take LOTS of documents with you eg passport, bank/credit cards, driving licence, marriage certificate etc,

Hi, you can open an account with Westpac over the internet. You have to be in Aus to verify your ID. Although your bank manager in UK can fill out a form provided by Westpac to id you.Until you arrive in Aus you can only make deposits
