Hi Chatachuk is only open weekends.
You might pick up the majority of items at the Patpong market which is on every night.
Hope this helps

The so-called Papong night market (Silom Road) has only a tiny fraction of the goods carried at Chatuchak.

No, you can visit anyday, but not all sections are open. You can also visit the night bazaar (for the tame version of the Patpong night market).

Absolutely no point in going there in the week.
Go to Pratunam market for clothing, which is near to -
Pantip Plaza for IT, computer bits and software (better by taxi unless you stay near there)
The Suan Lum night bazaar (Lumphini station on the underground)and the night stalls along Sukhumvit or Patpong area (by sky train).
China town street markets for all kinds of tat (bus or river boat).
If you fancy an interesting trip go to the river and get the express boat north to the last stop,Nonthaburi, there's a real Thai market there.
Enjoy.
