| London | Queue for London Eye Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 04:39 AM UTC
Does anyone know about the queue situation for London Eye, the last time I tried London Eye was in 2006 that was in the early afternoon, first I got a number ticket then waited for about 30 mins till my number is displayed on the electronic board, then I got to pay for the ticket and queued to board the Eye.
Nowadays are they still using this practice? I want to bring my friend and have a ride on London Eye, do you think that we will have to wait for more than 30 mins? Thank you for your help. |

The queue situation will vary with the day, date and weather but there are certainly still queues (which can be very long at times). I don't know whether they have changed the ticket purchase system, but you should not expect to wait for only 30 minutes: you might, but you might have to wait much longer.
Even those who have pre-booked online are recommended to join the queue to pick up tickets 30 minutes before their 'flight' time. You might think about pre-booking online beforehand, but perhaps do it when you are in London so that you know (roughly) what the weather will be like on the day. www.londoneye.com

I didn't stand in line for more than 10 minutes but that was because I had bought my ticket in advance.

It is much quieter in the morning when it opens and later on in the evening. Times of first and last 'flight' displayed on the website.

You can pre-book a premium ticket and have next no wait time at all. I booked a champaign flight last summer, it was wonderful, though a bit expensive.
