Tangier Camel Rides in Tangier
Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 01:34 AM UTC
Our ship docks in Tangier for one day. We have a tour scheduled until 1pm; the ship doesn't leave until 8pm. What is our best option for a camel ride on the beach? I've read that if we go to Tangier Beach you can ride a camel, no reservations required. Is that true?

Not sure where you're from, but riding a camel in Morocco is not the same as swimming with Dolphins in Disney World. No, no reservation required.
You might need to pull a queue ticket though and jump to the front when your number flashes up on the display.

Did you know there are even camels in Australia if you find yourself stranded there?
Riding a camel in Tangier is a very lonely experience, all you do is ride up and down the beach for three minutes, five if you are lucky, pays your 20Dh or whatever they think you can afford and get off with a sore rear after having seen nothing at all.
Desert experiences are far more realistic although you still get a sore rear.
Wherever you are in Morocco, or even in Tunisia, you are a mere commodity and riding a camel is no big deal, really, but we all have to try it once.

Enjoy the day.
