| Honolulu | Luggage storage after cruise? Posted: Thu May 1, 2008 11:21 PM UTC
We will be going on a cruise out of honolulu and when we get off of the ship we need a place to store our luggage for the day. We get off the ship in the morning and our flight is not until 10pm. We would like to go sightseeing or do something that day. But what do we do with our luggage?

Just to let you know that we checked out the exact same thing....we have a Honolulu stopover on our way to Vancouver (on our way TO a cruise lol) and checked the Honolulu Airport site and they specifically state they do not provide storage facilities. Others suggested some lockers at a local shopping centre but I am guessing these would not be able to accommodate suitcases.
We arrive at 7.45am and leave at 10pm and after all night flying we decided to book a room at the Wyland Waikiki. They do day rates from USD$100 which is good. So thats what we are doing. WE can have a shower and a sleep if need be and go for a wander around Waikiki. http://www.outrigger.com/hotels-resorts/hawaiian-i Cheers Col & Sue

Getting a cheap hotel room is a very good idea. Nothing worse than getting tired and sweaty before boarding the plane.

Sue, he's gone. To the point, do not rent a car and leave the luggage in the trunk and then go sightseeing. Many eyes will be watching rental cars trunks to break end and ruin the Aloha spirit. Do as suggested, go to a hotel for the night. Call the one you want to stay in and let them know that you would like to check in after your ship docks approximate time about 2 hours after docking and would check out about 2 1/2 hours before your flight time. If not crowded, they will do this because you are leaving at about 7:30 pm. They can still have your room for the late arrivals to Oahu. Now, you can keep your luggage safe in the hotel, maybe even a shuttle ride from the dock to the hotel and to the airport, as well as see a little of Waikiki and enjoy a meal and a nap before saying Aloha to Hawaii.
