Hi,
Is it possible to visit the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage, the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and then return to Colombo in one day? How long is the drive from Colombo to Kandy |

It can be done - I often see it advertised as one of the shore excursions offered by cruise ships, sometime with a full lunch stop onthe way.

Hi,
Yes its possible to do this trip in one day which is usually done by a lot of people. The journey may take 2 - 2 1/2 hrs time with a stop over at the elephant orphanage if you dont spend a lot of time at the orphanage. Regards, Treshi

You can do day excursion to kandy and possible to see mentioned place .it will take about 3-4 hrs drive to kandy .to see the bottled feeding at pinnawala elephant orphanage you must be there at 0915 morning session and 1315 at second session. If you need some contact detail of driver/guide in sri lanka I would like to recommend d.karnal de silva he is a nice person who having license issued by Ceylon tourist board. we had a fantastic time with him.
