Mérida Travel Forum

Does anyone have any recommendations for affordably priced ($20US to $40US) hotels in Merida that are near the action. I would like to be close to the zocalo, street markets, nightlife, etc...I do need a room with a bath, but besides that, I'm not to picky.

The two Trinidad hotels are in your ballpark as well ($20 to $40) - also about 3 or 4 blocks from zocalo - at least they were two years ago.

The Faby Hostel is only 10 minutes away from the main plaza, and has a private room for $45US a night. http://www.hostelfaby.com.mx

Merida in Yucatan or Spain ?

I first saw this a couple of days ago on the everyday forum. I'd kept it in the back of my mind as I stayed in a little place in Spain last year, until I had the chance to find the paper. Then I discovered the post had disappeared, so did a search in keywords. Found it then noticed you fellows had all answered for Yucatan . Never mind, all the best
