will be arriving on a sunday midday... I've been told that many stores would be closed on Sunday. Will Grocery stores be open ?

When I was in Marbella (very close to Malaga) a couple of years ago, there wasn't a problem getting anything on sundays. Some of the stores might be closed, but some of the neighborhood stores will be open. I would imagine from what I saw that some of the bigger stores would be open as well.

Malaga shops will be mostly closed for sure. Only Opencor opens on sundays and a couple fo little local ones that may close after lunch. check with your hotel reception. What area are you staying? In case I can ask some locals about it ...

That was the name of the chain..... opencor..... There was one of those at the other end of the block from the hotel we stayed in while in Marbella. They were small but they had pretty much everything you could need.

Yes, It is part of "el corte ingles" chain, they open 20 hours per day I think (thats why they are a little overpriced LOL). Also petrol stations have little supermarkets, but there are not many in malaga city center :-)
