Chingay will always take place sometime on a weekend during the Chinese New Year festive period which last 15 days (sadly only the first 2 days are public holidays though). The exact date for Chingay 2009 has not been fixed, but the first day of Chinese New Year will be 26 January 2009.

The exact date is 30th and 31st Jan. 30th is preview and 31st is actual. Will be in Marina bay and city hall area. Do book a hotel in the area if you want to watch the parade.
