hi.. my bf and i are planning to go to pg on the 2nd or 3rd week of may, i just wanna ask where is the best place to stay that is beachfront and how much would it cost us?? any suggestions?? cheaper accomodations is much better but nice and cozy of course.. by the way 2 of his friends are coming with us... so probably we'll be needing two rooms.. is really white beach cleaner than sabang?
please do answer me.. thanks much...

ems can't help you with the rates and stuff but one thing's for sure, white beach is definitely cleaner than sabang.

Sabang is a place good as diving base and nightlife. The sea-shore stinks. There are many sandy beaches in the area, most of them accessible only by boat. White Beach is a long wide sandy beach, the biggest and the best in tha area. This is the place for you to stay. You can find no-aircon rooms starting from 400-500 pesos per night (you have to bargain) and going up, according to comforts added... Just go arround asking, there are many resorts, hotels and pension houses... A lot of restaurants, the best with good prices is MANALO. There is also some limited night-life, depending on the season. You can hire a banca (local boat) and go around in the sea or hire tricycle and visit nearby places. Besides beaches and resorts, there are also interesting villages of Mayans (indigenous people), a wonderful view from Ponterosa (on the mountain) and some waterfalls (but difficult to reach).

For Puerto, a nice compromise is Little La Laguna - a short walk away from Sabang vs the further white beach. You're close enough for night life, restaurants and diving, but it feels like another world.

As Stefano says, there are many, many, many venues and it does pay to bargain. What might make most sense is to have some of you sit with the bags while the others hunt up a place to stay.

And beware the touts on the beach who will offer to 'help' you find a place or carry your bags. You will end up paying their commission, embedded in your room price.
