Tourist information here:

http://www.visithighlands.com/inverness-loch-ness/inverness/

and here

http://www.aboutinverness.co.uk/

and on VT Inverness pages, of course.

Bus information here:

http://www.city-sightseeing.com/index.phtml

Bus tour leaves from outside the Tourist Information Office, on the hour from 10am.

Inverness is not a large city: the whole tour takes only 45 minutes.

You could perhaps also investigate a tour to the Black Isle, or down Loch Ness, or to Culloden, or a general tour of the area. Inverness is not large and as the hop on/hop off tour takes less than an hour, you will be rather twiddling your thumbs for the rest of the time.

I would have thought your cruise would organise a trip to Loch Ness, as its the most popular place to visit. They'd be silly not to. If they don't (??!) obviously use one of the places mentioned above. They might also offer tours of Culloden Battefield if you're into that.
