Recently my frines and I went to this a go go bar in Patpong. The touters told ask it cost 100 baht for a beer. We went up to the 2nd level and ordered the beers. After a while, we were asked to pay 1,500baht each for a bottle of Singha Beer. After a heated argument this was brought down to 300baht per bottle! Which is the most effective place to air and address my grievances?

You have no recourse.
Make this a lesson learned.

This is a common scam going on for years. I have been told that as soon as this happens to anyone, go to the nearest Tourist policeman who are in the area all the time. People have had success getting their money back but unfortunately this scam continues.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have heard of tourists threatened with bodily harm if they did not pay up.

Thanks for the responses.
I like to highlight several points:
1)The reasons why I put it up it is to inform and made aware of such goings on to VT members and their friends.
2)You have to take a stand so less of these will happen not only in Bangkok but elsewhere or it will just keep on growing.

A little confused by your account of "touters" and how "after a while" you were asked to pay the outrageous price. The most effective place to air and address cost concerns is at the point of sale and with the person who actually has the power to bind a contract.

I agree with the above statement that you should chalk this up to lessons learned.
