| Paris | Amélie's café Posted: Wed April 30, 2008 03:49 PM UTC
This summer I'm going to Paris and I'd like to know where the cafe from the film Amélie is. Amélie works in this cafe and it was next to a kiosk, it has a red canopy, and benches and a tobacco stand inside.

Cafe de deux moulins is at 15 r lepic, which you can find in the Northern section of the Pigalle. Roughly East of Opera. Check Beatchick's Paris pages for a more definitive location.

And the grocer's "Collignon" is at 56 rue des 3 freres. It's real name is "Marché de la butte".
The tobacco stand no longer exists inside the café.

If you're talking about the newspaper kiosk, its setting was actually on Place des Abbesses (a short walk from Collignon's grocery); from rue Androuet, cross the street where you'll see a set of steps. Take those (it's Passage des Abbesses),
http://www.pbase.com/beatchick/image/92406909 then turn left onto rue des Abbesses where you'll run into Place des Abbesses the site of Metro Abbesses (the interior was also in the movie). Unfortunately, the kiosk was set up only for the movie, like the telephone booth: http://www.pbase.com/beatchick/image/92406913
