Does anyone know how much a return on the stansted express is. I hear its cheaper to book it on the plane? I will be flying with Ryan air in June & want to get to Portsmouth via London Waterloo. Loooking at cheapest options

That's to Liverpool Street. Thereafter, you can get the tube to one of the main stations of your choice.

The Stansted Express is 26GBPretrun. You might get it a bit cheaper on the plane (I haven't flown Ryanair for so long I have forgotten) but it is definitely not the cheapest option.

Coach is far cheaper (8GBP each way), and you have a choice of carriers (see link above). It takes abit longer though, and is (of course) subject to any traffic congestion delays.

Mr Lewis is dead right: the toolkit link is obviously adding 2GBP for fun! :-)

If you book in advance through the Ryanair website, you can get a return for £ 19.50 (26.18 euros). I'm not certain how much it is if you buy on the plane.

Select airport transfer from the travel services list on the right of the page, and then Stansted train

You can also buy them for a similar price on the plane (I think I paid around £20 for train tickets on a Prestwick-Stansted flight last December.)
