I'm traveling with 6 children to Caceres for competition.
Can someone advice how much time will take me by metro to go from Madrid International Airport to Atocha Train Station? |

30-40 min I would say.
First you have to walk through quite long coridor (don't forget to load your luggage on the carts, it will be faster when you push the carts). Right before the entrance to the metro (when you can not take carts anymore) there is a tourist information on the left. You can ge a free metro map and they will explain where do you need to change. You go on escalator downstars, you by the tickets (we use the little booth with the real person inside, but you can use machines). When you go to the train track make sure you are always on the correct side (look for destination station). Be careful when changing trains. There is often no lift or escalator, so you have to climb the stairs. Make sure to SAVE your tickets to the end of the trip as you have to slide them again through the gate to get out of the metro station. Regulat size taxi is 30 Euro. You may consider getting taxi if you are in the hurry.

Hi Olga, I did the same thing several years ago...from what I remember, there are several staircases you'll have to navigate in the Metro stations, and I had to do at least two train transfers to get to Atocha station. I was on my own too. It can be done but, with six kids in tow, a taxi or shuttle might be a better option for you.
Hope this helps! :-)

I guess they like having children real young in Waimea :-),
To your question, 30-40 minutes is about right. Take Line 8 from Barajas to Nuevas Ministerios should be very easy. Then you need to get over to Line 1 (just a stop or two away depending on which connecting metro you take). Then take Line 1 to Atocha Renfe (not Atocha - which is the metro stop before the the train station) It can be quite crowded during morning and evening rush hour. Good luck, Karl

Hi!!
From Madrid to Caceres you'd beter take a bus, to see the schedule go to: http://www.auto-res.net/index.html As you can see, there are many buses leaving Madrid (Méndez Álvaro) at 8:00, 9:00, 11:30, 14:00, 15:30, 18:30 y 20:00 and take four hours to arrive to Cáceres. A taxi from the airport to Méndez Álvaro could cost 25 or 30 eur. But you need two taxis because they only admit four persons. I think you can take the metro. It's easier than go to Atocha: from the airport to Nuevos Ministerios. And there take the 6 line (the grey one). You are not very far from Méndez Álvaro and people will help you. Here's the map of the Metro: http://www.metromadrid.es/acc_resources/pdfs/Plano When are you coming? If I were in Madrid, I maybe could help you...

Yes, 15th is our City Day, and I won't be in Madrid, I'm sorry!
I don't think you have to be worried about your Madrid experience: there's not any problem. And have luck in Cáceres all of you!!
