Hi guys,
Any advice on how much baht to bring over to phuket for a 4D3N stay? We plan to go do the phi phi island tour and watch fantasea ,the rest will be eating eating eating and lazing by the beach. Any rough estimate as in how much I should be bringing over? =) Thanks. |

You can eat cheaply in Thailand if you stick to the local food, at Sabai Sabai for example you can have a good meal for 2 and 2 beers for 600THB and some think that is expensive. Seafood gets more expensive and king prawns and lobsters can be very expensive.
Take as much as you can afford (and your ATM or credit cards just in case). See my Phuket pages for some more tips. John

I second that advice. If you have a travel budget, you will shape your visit accordingly. There are all prices of eateries here, so if you want to keep that part of your budget low, it's certainly possible. However, many people come here expressly to enjoy food, and these people generally have a higher meal budget since they seek more of a gourmet experience. Other people come with empty suitcases and spend all their money in the markets, eating from sidewalk places that are very cheap. Others come here for watersports and spend all their money on dive trips (for example) and try to keep the shopping/eating budgets low. So it all depends on you! Bring whatever money you can budget for your trip and have a great time spending it on the kinds of things you most enjoy!
