Hi,
I have some time off in May and would like to go to Broken Hill.

What is the cheapest way of getting there? I was thinking perhaps by bus but can't seem to find anything on greyhound's website. I doubt there's an airport there, right?
I'm hoping to find one of those $49 / one way bus tickets somewhere......help please :)

Sydney to Broken Hill by bus would be a very long uncomfortable trip. I would recommend going by train. Country link train have a $97 deal

Hi Broken Hill is a reasonably large town, the Indian Pacific train went past there in 1972 when I took the trip so I presume rail still services this town. I would think their is a reasonable air service. Try Qantas.com or jetstar.com

Im fairly sure that you can fly to broken hill. Try Rex airlines, they may go there.

I will take the train to Broken Hill (Mother's Day special...$30 to get there)
However, I'm not sure how I'll travel around once I get there. I checked out the 2 car rental companies and they're both quite expensive...I figured, I might just rent a car from Sydney and drive to Broken Hill...and sleep in the car. Would anyone NOT recommend that? :)

remember that driving at dusk or night is VERY dangerous near Broken hill..Kangaroos everywhere...I wouldnt recommend it at all!

Could be very cold at night, petrol will cost more than $30
