Can anyone recommend a company in Shanghai that does one or two day tours to some of the main sightseeing spots? Shall I arrange this once I arrive at the hotel in Shanghai? Thank you.

I got a brochure from the hotel for thei company called Railway Hong Peng Travel Agency. Their one day tour costs about 500 RMB with Lunch. The tour is 8 hours. Their is also a half day tour for about 360 RMB (no lunch).
Call +86 13162943482 (Miss Zhang). Be SURE to ask for an English speaking guide. If you want I can list the sites to be visited on the full day and the half day tour.

Oh by the way I have not tried this so I can't really vouch for the company. You can also try asking the concierge at your hotel to recommend a good tour company.

I think a lot of the things to see in Shanghai and be done on your owned. The metro is very good and it is easy to get around. Maybe "thescene" can list what you will see on the tour, and then go their by yourself. A good guide book will also be helpful.

I don't bother with tours so nothing to recommend in that direction. However Shanghai's main sights are easily DIYed using public transport ie metro, and taxis.
