São Paulo Hairdresser in Sao Paulo

I'm looking for a hair salon which they speak english, or undertsand bit of it. Any recommendation? I planning to do alisamento, I guess it spell that way, hair straightening and what the avrage price over here? Currently stayin in centre.

It's also known as "escova progresiva", I believe.

I would think that a salon associated with one of the hotels would be more likely to have English speakers.

If you don't get an answer here about a recommended salon, you might try asking on Gringoes.com, a forum that has a lot of locals and expats resident in S.P.

If you really want to go a hairdresser that has some professionals who speak English, Jacques Janine is probably your best bet. This is a famous hairdresser in São Paulo and they have good professionals to do “alisamento” or different techniques with hair. There are many Jacques Janine salons in different neighborhoods. Another option is Studio W, which is located in Shopping Iguatemi. Both Jacques Janine and Studio W are very expensive hairdressers. You will probably pay about R$ 600 to do “alisamento” in these places. No matter which hairdresser you choose, I’m sure that you will be very satisfied because both of them have the best professionals.
