| Venice | 30th Anniversary treat Posted: Sun April 27, 2008 12:09 PM UTC
Hi all,
My wife and I will be arriving in Venice for two nights at the end of a holiday in the Dolomites. We arrive on our 30th anniversary so have decided to treat ourselves and have booked into the Bauer Palazzo Hotel on the Grand Canal. We will be arriving by car and need to park it as close as possible, so we're looking at the possibility of the car park at Piazzale Roma. 1/ Does anybody know the cost of parking at Piazzale Roma for 2 full days? 2/ Is there a cheaper solution, keeping in mind we have luggage? 3/ Has anybody got knowledge of the hotel? Thanks in advance for any help |

Domenico
The "comunale" multistorey carpark is the closest, and frankly worth the 21 eruro for day or fraction it costa. So, 42 euros up to 48 hours- You don't wanna park in Mestre or in-the-middle-of-nowhere (= Tronchetto) and then fight with transports and baggages on your annyversary, right? From th parking, it's 100 meters to the waterbus stop. I never used the hotel but... hey, isn't it the manystars on Canal Grande? Nothing can spoil that view... Happy anniversary! Francesco P.S. you can even book the parking, but with an extra of 3 euros... http://www.asmvenezia.it/ but.. damn! no english page!

Thanks Francesco,
I did already think that parking at Piazzale Roma would be the easiest thing to do. And yes, the Bauer Palazzo is the all singing, all dancing hotel on the Canale Grande. I was hoping somebody may have already stayed there and could have given me some idea of dress etiquette etc. Thanks for your kind wishes Domenico

Thanks again Francesco,
I checked TripAdvisor before booking the hotel. Outstanding reviews, but mainly just praises.
