Rome Termini lockers
Posted: Sun April 27, 2008 08:46 AM UTC
16 years ago there was huge lockers in Termini station, and they weren´t expensive. We were on interrail, and got our backbacks there for little money.Does anyone know are they still there? We are leaving to airport so early in the morning(night),that we might want a hotel near airport,if we find a cheap one.but we wouldn´t want to go there to take our luggage in the daytime,so we are hoping to find a place to keep our luiggage for one day, from noon to evening. And not too expensive.

There is a left-luggage facility at Termini, but everything has to be x-rayed. Whenever I walked past there were very long queues. 3.80 euros for the first 5 hours.

Thanks for info.I´m not sure what we´ll do.We have to leave our apartment at 10 a.m.,but we would like to spend whole day normaly otherwise.maybe we will take a hotel near termini,so we could take our luggage there. But then we must wake up even earlier than if we would be near airport.Luckily hotels can be canceled,so i can book something, and change a plan closer,if we got better idea! And someone even said, that Terravision bus doesn´t go in night.I find it hard to belive, because everywhere we have been, they´ve been going 24 hours. Two months ago we were in Dublin, and people said, that bus don´t go by night, but it went 24h after all.

The Terravision Ciampino bus links with Ryanair (& other budget carriers)flight times.

If there is a flight, there will be a bus. If there isn't, there won't be: it's not really a 24-hour service from that point of view.

I´ve visited those pages, but there´s non timetible. And those flight are 24h,when there´s many compnys. Our flight leaves at 7 a.m.,and they say that you should be at Termini 3 hours before flight. But nowhere is the timetable. We have visited 5 Ryanair destinations, and everywhere there has been 24h service.only at daytime buses go allmost non stop and at night-time tere might be 40min between.I wish we wouldn´t have to leave so early, but there´s no choise.Ther´s still allmost 3 months untill we go,but hotel rates keep rising up,so I try to deside even something.

The Terravision site seems to suggest that if you get to Termini 3 hours (or more) before your flight there will be a coach. Maybe they don't publish a set timetable because it will vary according to the flights they serve, which also vary through the year.

I think there is just a language difference in '24-hour service'. If there's a flight, there will be a coach. You can always check exact times with the Terravision people at Termini whilst you are in Rome.

There really have been that 24hour service. For example in Dublin, there was timetables here in Finland to tell that between 6 o´clock and 21 o´clock it runs every 15min,between 21 to 0.00 every 20min,between 00.00 to 4.30 once an hour and between 4.30 to 6.00 it goes every 20min.I have it right here in my table. That´s why I wonder, why they can´t put it in net.I can have this kind of timetables from Tampere-Pirkkala airport, but only to destinations that they fly.We can´t fly from here to Rome,we have to fly first to Milan(Bergamo)and I guess I can have there this kind of timetable. But maybe I´ll ask someone, who´s going to Milan,to check out,if she could get Rome terravision timetable for me there.Lot of my customers are goig to Milan.Allways when we´ll get a new Ryanair-destination,seems like whole Tampere will go there! ;) You´ve been very helpful anyway, thanks! We just try to deside, should we stay near airport or near Termini. We will also stay two nights at Milan, and two at Bergamo, before flying to Rome(where we´ll be 10 nights!!)

There is not a fixed 'every 30 minute' (or whatever) timetable available for Ciampino Terravision because it links with flight times for particular airlines.

This Terravision service is only for passengers flying with the airlines listed: other Terravision services are not restricted in this way and therfore have timetables online.

Hope you get something sorted out anyway.

Strange that it is different than other places.Sorry that I first thought that you didn´t know for sure-my mistake.I thought you only thought so.But anyway, thanks for help!
I´m just checking out airport-hotels,but it seems that "airport-hotel"isn´t the same like in Finland. Here if you take a airport-hotel,it means, that in room-price they will take you to the airport when you want. There doesn´t seem to be that kind of service in Rome airport-hotels.maybe we will have to take hotel near termini, sleep even less than near airport and take that Terravision if you say it goes whenever the flights go.

Terravision say the coaches are linked with flights, not me! I think you should check it out when you are in Rome.

That particular route is restricted, I think, because of the larger number of budget carriers using Ciampino than other Terravision-serviced airports.

Airport hotels in the UK don't usually include transport in their rates, although more expensive ones sometimes run shutttle buses.

I thought that maybe you work for them or know someone who does ;) But anyway. We must hope that it works so,because I really want to book some place to sleep a bit now,and not when we are in Rome.Of course we must check it out in Rome to be sure then.
In Stansted airport the airport hotels did allmost all have a pick-up service. And also at Frankfurt-Hahn.in other cities I don´t know, because usually we haven´t been leaving this early in the morning.Or in dublin we did,but we were only 4 nights there,so we didn´t want to change a hotel, when there was that good bus-service through night.in last 6 years we haven´t been flying with anything else than Ryanair.(there´s no other cheap ones in Finland)
