how do we find a tour of the lion monument (Lowendkmal)?
or how do we get there ie. public trainsport, bus? we are staying in Lucerne, how far is it? |

The Lion Monument known by the locals as Lowendenkmal is situated north of Lowenplatz. You can walk to the monument if you are staying in the Old Town area. I did this on my first visit 20 years ago and I was disappointed to not see the monument last year as Lucerne was completely covered in snow. I do recall it was a bit of an uphill walk but when you see him you may be reduced to tears. He is that beautiful!

(You don't need a tour, you just walk up the hill from the lake shore in the Old Town).
