I have been to Maldives and French Polynesia. you are talking about two cups of tea. if you just want relaxation and sun and beach and nothing else go to maldives, if you want to soak a little bit of culture, good food and great scenery go to french polynesia. prices also differ. i hear good things about mauritius, which has a varied population, scenery and food and excellent hotels. none of the three are budget priced or cheap.

So say there is not budget and you had to chose from the three, which one would you chose and why? If we go to Maldives, we would stop in Dubai so we would get our culture and scenery in Dubai... We need to decide asap so the many responses the better.

I recommend Maldives if you go for sun, beach, and water sports. Further, accommodation cost is cheaper in M than in Frech P.
