Hi,
We are travelling to Phuket in September and there are 9 of us, 6 adults and 3 children. We would love to be able to stay in a 4 bedroom villa in one of the resorts. Does such a think exist and if so where?

Check out Baan Kata Villa. This establishment is located on the headland on the southern end of Kata Beach. Stunning location and views, beautiful garden setting, exquisitely decorated and own large swimming pool. They can also provide your personal driver and chef(s).

Well, then, Laguna is one option. It is costly, though! For the price of a one-week stay there, it's possible to rent an entire private villa for several months.... The Phuket Gazette newspaper has a classified section that lists private rental properties for both short and long term stays.

Thanks Quero for the tip. I wish I had known about this site prior to booking prepayment our holiday in July for 8 of us totalling A$5000 in accommodation for the 9 nights! Some look sensational like the one on the point at Kata. I will check some of them out if I can gain access whilst over there for future holidays.

You should check the terms of your prepayment. It may be cheaper to pay a penalty and rebook at a less expensive place than to pay all that money for the Laguna villa. It's worth a try. Even if you forfeit 10% you still come out ahead.

Speaking of which, in this week's Gazette, there are a number of ads for rental properties. Here's one very near where you are booked to stay:

Now I don't know if gregory.heenan will accept short-term rentals, but my point is that there are a number of options available to you if you seek them out.

Thanks for that info Quero. We did not go ahead with the Sheraton Laguna Villa seeing it required a golf buggy to the beach but opted to stay at the Katathani for 6 nights and the Dusit Laguna for 3. We booked with asiarooms.com. I will check the cancellation policy to see if it is possible to change. We would prefer to stay as close to the beach as possible ... if not on it! Thanks, Tracey

Hi Quero, on closer inspection of the rates for Phuket Villas it was even more expensive than the Sheraton as the rates started at US$1150 to US$2000 per night for the Kata area not per week as I had first thought! Tracey

Try the following site, freinds have used it and it is reasonably priced accomodation in your own villa. I think they have an office in Perth Aust.

Have done research on this for a holiday in October. Google Villa Jasmine at Kata beach we have booked this two families - by 8. Around $440.00 US each night but includes pool, 4 bedrooms, chef and maids. Looks impressive and great value. Have no problems dealing with owner..... Paid deposit ect and have received receipt ect.......... Hope this is all good.
