| Angkor Wat | Siem Reap to Phnom Penh bus Posted: Sat April 26, 2008 09:39 PM UTC
Is the bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh a comfortable ride? Will it accomodate the 2 luggages I have? What bus name will you recommend?

Hi there, We went to Phnom Penh from Siem Reap on the Mekong Express bus. Its very comfortable and the bus is quite new compared to some of the other companies.
The drivers are good, roads are great, there is a tv on board playing comedies, a western toilet and your 2 cases will not be a problem. You are also given a little snack pack with a couple of pastries and a bottle of water. I think the ticket is now about $11. Mekong Express bus can be booked by your hotel in Siem Reap. It takes about 5 hours with a 45 min stop on the way and the views are pretty good etc, we loved the bus trip. Have a look at my link below there is a photo of the bus and the views along the way plus some more info. Cathy http://www.cathyandgarystravelpages.com/bus_&_planes.htm

Yes, as above, the Mekong Express Company has some of the best VIP buses for the trip and what was described above is accurate. Most accomodations can book the bus for you and they even offer a free transfer from your hotel to their bus station. Just double check the price to make sure that the hotel is not overcharging.
Another good company though not as 'classy' is Hong Rumg Kheaw. Both bus stations are along the River and are also within easy walking distance of the main tourist area.
