| Amsterdam | Itenary for 3 days in Amsterdam please. Posted: Sat April 26, 2008 04:18 PM UTC
Suggestions please for 3 days in Amsterdam. I will arrive Friday July 25th. at noon and leave Monday at noon. I would love to se some of the Museums, se some windmills and a little bit outside of the city. Any and all suggestions will be so appreciated. I have a hotel close to the train station on a canal, now I just need to know how to get the best out of my days there.
Thanks so much for any and all help. msliv |

Just have a look around at the Amsterdam pages...
A canal cruise, a visit to the Zaanse Schans (windmills, http://www.zaanseschans.nl/), maybe visit one of the surrounding cities (Haarlem, Alkmaar (you're too late on Friday for the cheesemarket), Volendam/Marken). Maybe you'll enjoy some time in the Vondelpark when the weather is nice... Plenty of stuff to do... Cheers Dennis

That's mid summer.
If it's a warm sunny day, head for the coast and enjoy the Northsea beach. To explore Amsterdam first take a canal boat tour. Windmills: Either go to the Zaanse Schans (as has been recommended above) or visit Brouwerij 't IJ at Amsterdam. Use the grey day for your museum visits. Enjoy your trip, PJ

For sure you'll walk alongside the plenty of Am's channels. There's my favorite cafe placed on one of them: 'Bagelsbeans' (Keizersgracht 504 1017 EJ Amsterdam). Just take an early breakfast with coffee (one of the best in Am) and sandwich with cheese - hardly possible to imagine a better way to start the day, mm... ;-)

As stated above, a visit to Zaanse Schans will give you the opportunity to see some windmills and there are a few mini-museums there. Its all laid out as it was historically.
I recommend a visit to Ons Lieve Heer Op Solder (church in attic) - a wonderful museum to see how catholics practised when they were forbidden from practising in public.

Just to add to the list: I regard the Anne Frank house as a must see. The Aalsmeer flower market is incredible as well.
